About me
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I completed my undergraduate studies at Rutgers University, my medical school studies at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and my general psychiatry residency training at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. In between my undergraduate and medical school studies, I completed a Christian post-graduate program at the Full-time Training in Anaheim.
My calling into psychiatry began during my medical school clinical rotations after several impactful experiences of working with patients to arrive at a diagnosis that helped them better understand themselves and their mental health struggles. However, throughout my residency training, I noticed general limitations across mental health institutions that reduce psychiatrist roles to primarily medication management. Due to these restrictions on psychiatrist practice, I was deeply moved time and time again as patients did not receive the adequate comprehensive treatment for their mental health needs.
My purpose in starting this practice is to provide genuine holistic and patient-centered mental health care. My mission is to work with my patients to understand them as well as to design innovative and flexible treatment plans together. As a psychiatrist, my role goes beyond “an expert of medications” to serve as a “healer of the soul.” As such, I refuse to settle for anything less than what I believe is the best care for my patients. For this reason, I prioritize an open-minded and collaborative approach to meet my patients where they are and to help pave a path forward with them.
